The Region also supports the Baby Friendly Initiative, an International Program developed by the World Health Organization and UNICEF for the protection, promotion, and support of breastfeeding.

Saskatoon Health Region has International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) on staff to support families. Breastfeeding support is available while you are in hospital, as well as in the community.
