Rosthern Hospital is an acute care facility with six physicians providing health care. Rosthern Union Hospital was built in 1950, with additions added to the facility in 1960 and 1970. The Hospital has 30 beds and a staff of 60 employees.

Admitting

To be admitted into hospital, please report to the Admitting Department located at the main entrance to the hospital. Admitting hours are:

  • Monday to Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Outside of these times, please report to the Nurses Station, also located near the main entrance.

Television Service/Telephones/Radios

Television rental service is available, although earphones must be used. A nurse will make arrangements to have a television installed in your room. The fee for this rental is $3.00 per day for the television, and $2.50 for a headset. A $9.00 deposit is required before your television will be delivered.

Pay telephones are located in the front entry way and south wing patient lounge.

Patients may bring their own radio, however it must be a transistor radio equipped with earphones.

Newspapers/Reading Materials

Newspapers and other materials are available in the waiting rooms, hallways, and patient library in south wing.

Patient Meals

Patient meals are delivered at the following times:

  • Breakfast – 8:30 a.m.
  • Lunch – 12:00 noon
  • Dinner – 5:00 p.m.

Meals are not typically open to visitors however they can be pre-ordered from the kitchen. All meals must be eaten in the patient’s room or patient lounge.

A soda machine is located in the patient lounge located in the south wing.

Telephoning a Patient

Family and friends wishing to speak to a patient may phone the hospital at 306-232-4811. Staff will bring the patient to the phone if their condition allows. If your family will be making numerous calls, please appoint one family member who can share the information with others.
