Interventional Radiography

Using x-ray or ultrasound images to guide the procedure, the Interventional Radiologist may use catheters (thin tubes) and needles to perform biopsies, drainages and many other procedures to diagnose and treat a wide variety of conditions that previously required surgery.

Many of the procedures can be done on an outpatients basis with any significant complications and minimal recovery time.

Please click on the links below to learn about your procedure.  The procedure will be thoroughly explained to you on the day of your test but if you require any further information ahead of time please contact the site where you are having your procedure and ask to speak to a radiologist.
