Chronic or Complex Pain - Interventional Pain Clinic

What We Do

The Interventional Pain Clinic (IPC) offers treatment to clients with pain who may benefit from interventional procedures such as trigger point injections or nerve blocks. Common conditions seen include myofascial pain, back pain, headaches, nerve entrapment, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS),  and post-herpetic pain (not an exhaustive list).

  • The IPC is NOT a multidisciplinary pain management program
  • 50% of our clients receive diagnostic or interventional procedures
  • 50% receive other recommendations
  • Recommendations are relayed to the referring physician
  • Recommendations may include further interventional procedures, medication management or referral to other specialists
  • The client's family physician will be responsible for writing prescriptions for continuity of care
  • IPC physicians do NOT provide prescriptions for narcotics

Making a Referral

  • All clients require a referral from a physician to be seen at the clinic
  • Referrals are screened for appropriateness

Your First Appointment

  • Clients are notified by letter of their initial consultation appointment date and time
  • A chronic pain questionnaire to be completed by the client is included and must be brought to the initial consultation visit
  • Clients are encouraged to bring a family member or friend to their appointment for support
