In The Zone

Smoking or other use of tobacco products is not permitted in Saskatoon Health Region buildings or on grounds 24 hours/day in all Region-owned and region-operated buildings and grounds.

Please click on the location listed below for the designated Patient/Family smoking area at St. Paul's Hospital.

Outdoor smoking is available for residents of special care homes only in designated locations. Visitors are not permitted to smoke on the grounds.

The Saskatoon Health Region’s approach supports the provincial tobacco reduction strategy’s goals of prevention, protection and cessation.

Tobacco Cessation

Tobacco cessation services and resources (website) are available to support those in our care.

  • free access to Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) for those admitted to hospital or residential care for the duration of their stay
  • one-time free access to NRT for up to a 10-week program for residents in special care homes
  • brief three to five minute tobacco cessation counselling integrated into nursing practice for those admitted to acute and special care facilities

Members of the public and Health Region employees also have access to the Tobacco Counsellor to support them to reduce or quit using tobacco products.
