Child Health Clinics

When visiting public health services for child health clinic (CHC) plan for a 20 to 45 minute appointment when your child is 2, 4, 6, 12 and 18 months as well as 4 years of age.

At Child Health Clinics, the Public Health Nurse will answer parents questions and concerns.  The nurse will provide parental support and health information on variety of topics including: infant growth and development; feeding and nutrition; oral health; safety; exposure to second hand smoke.  The nurse also immunizes your child to protect against 13 different diseases.

For safety reasons, we ask that you wait 15 minutes in the waiting room following immunization.

During school immunization, the nurse will send a informed consent form home for the parent/guardian to sign.  This will include information on the vaccines your child is due to receive.  The nurse will immunize your child at school after this form is returned.  If you have any questions about immunizations at your child's school, contact the school nurse.
