Food Trucks/Mobile Canteens and Delivery Units

Food Trucks/Mobile Canteens and Delivery Units

The food truck industry is an up and coming area of food service in Saskatoon Health Region.  Food Truck challenges and reality TV shows have highlighted the food options available in a mobile setting.  Food trucks are typically self contained "restaurants on wheels".

Health Inspectors are looking for all of the same food safety features in a mobile food truck as they would in a permanent facility.  Water supplies, temperature control, were washing, and contamination as well as other aspects are monitored by health inspectors.  Mobile Food Trucks also require annual inspection and licencing.

These requirements and others are necessary to protect the health of the public.

Be sure to check for a licence on or near the food truck.  This is your assurance that the truck has been inspected by a Public Health Inspector.
